Make a film that is impossible for anyone except for you to make, with
exactly the limited amount of funds that only you do or don't have.

work as a freelance cinematographer, editor and documentary producer
in San Francisco. I got into documentaries through my work as a DJ,
wildlife biologist, freelance writer, bike messenger, plumber, art
handler, and day camp counselor. I have weak spots for hip hop and
soccer.

don't start shooting till you have something to say. (also: make friends with the guy at the rental house!)

Heavy on the bacon fat, light on the Tarantino-esque impulses.
Ultimate example of something that is high concept/ low budget : It definately has to be the full body Umbrella.
When I'm not hilo operative I...Well, I've been called the pimp of public access but only by one person so I guess that
just makes me a pimplet. I produce "Karaoke Riot", the television show that pushes the boundaries and questions the fundamental
fabric that structures the parameters of what we as a collective force strive for when faced with issues involving Karaoke. I
make videos and photographs. sometimes, and with little attention to detail.

The secret to making a high concept / low budget film is:
Lots of special effects and a great soundtrack that
will sell on it's own for sure. When making a lo
budget documentary focus on an original issue like
same-sex marriage, the Bush Administration and/or
globalization. I also think subtlety is overrated.
Ultimate example of something that is high concept/ low budget: downward dog
When I'm not hilo operative I... Doing anything I can to make it in Hollywood including
lying, cheating and stealing.
